Sandusky attorney takes dismissal request off table

Jerry Sandusky’s attorney Joe Amendola told the judge to forget ruling on many of the motions he filed last week, for now, including the request to dismiss all charges.  

The judge overseeing the Jerry Sandusky case said right off the bat that he has other commitments and wouldn’t be making any decisions at Thursday’s hearing in Bellefonte. 

Sandusky arrived at the Centre County courthouse with his wife Dotty and Amendola at  8:30 in the morning.

An hour later, he walked out again, sex abuse charges still intact and no real arguments made on his behalf.  

Sandusky was smiling as he arrived at the courthouse.  The trial date is fast approaching, schedule for early June.

Thursday’s court session was a short one; both sides disagreeing on why.  A prosecutor saying it was because Sandusky didn’t want to hear the details of the serious charges against him. 

Meanwhile, Amendola saying he kept things short because the investigation hasn’t been completed.

Prosecutors admit there is an ongoing grand jury investigation,

6 News has learned court officials are lining up hotel room in case a trial jury has to be sequestered for an extended time. Those hotel rooms could be reserved for up to a month.  Officials say a trial could easily go several weeks.
