God bless the broken road that led the Rascal Flatts straight to Penn State. The band, which has had a key role in country music’s surge to mainstream popularity, is coming back to the Bryce Jordan Center for the seventh time on Oct. 7 as part of the Rhythm and Roots Tour. Up-and-coming country artist Chase Bryant will take the stage as a special guest.

The Rascal Flatts, perhaps known best for their cover of ‘Life is a Highway,’ aren’t exactly strangers to Penn State. With this visit, the group passes the Dave Matthews Band for second-most appearances in the BJC, trailing one show behind first place Bill Gaither. It’s no surprise they’re the most-awarded country band in the past decade with chart-toppers like ‘What Hurts The Most’ and ‘Summer Nights,’ and seven platinum albums to boot. They’ve headlined 14 tours in the past 14 years.

Tickets go on sale Friday, July 8 at the BJC, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Downtown Theatre, Ticketmaster, and by phone at 800-745-3000.

This will be Gary, Jay, and Joe’s first trip back to Happy Valley in more than six years. They picked a perfect time to come back, too — Homecoming week. The concert starts at 8:30 p.m. to accommodate for the parade. Here’s the typical setlist for the tour if you want to know what you and your gang will be getting into.
