The National Weather Service warns that a line of powerful thunderstorms is approaching the State College area.
The storms are moving northeast at 55 mph and will affect the region through 5 p.m.
Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible. The forecast calls for a 15 to 20 minute period of very heavy rain. Water will pond on roads and fill areas with poor drainage.
The storms may have an impact on local highways including I-80, Route 322, State Road 26, State Road 45.
