A Philipsburg man is facing charges after police say he emailed nude photos of his ex-girlfriend to Penn State email addresses.

According to the criminal complaint filed Wednesday, a woman reported to Penn State Police at 2 p.m. on Feb. 12 that she was being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, Dylan J. Long, 18. She told police that since they broke up Long had been sending her harassing text messages, which included threats to harm himself if she didn’t talk to him.

Police said that at about 2:30 p.m. an officer contacted Long and told him not to contact the woman again and Long said he understood. The woman told police she then received a message from Long saying not to tell others about their private conversations. Long sent another message telling her he “had dirt on her” that he was going to “spread on the internet,” according to the complaint. The woman told police she had sent nude photos to Long while they were dating.

On the night of Feb. 23, Long reportedly sent her a text message saying “I could ruin your life,” and “I’ll get you kicked out of college.” Police said other messages read “Call the cops again too it will just give me a reason to do it,” and “Revenge awaits…”

On March 8, several Penn State departments received an email containing eight nude and partially nude photos of the woman, police said. The email came from a person claiming to be a Penn State student, but police found the name did not match anyone enrolled at the university. The person who sent the email claimed the woman had been sending the photos to their phone.

The woman confirmed the photos were of her. She said she had taken them in the summer of 2016 when she was 17-years-old and that she had only sent them to Long.

Long allegedly acknowledged receiving the photos but denied sending them to anyone. Police obtained a search warrant for his cell phone, which was seized and turned over to a State College Police detective for analysis.

Police said they found on the phone the email account used to send the photos to the Penn State email addresses and the email containing the photos.

Long is charged with 10 misdemeanor counts of unlawful dissemination of an intimate image and a misdemeanor count of harassment. He was arraigned via summons on Wednesday by District Judge Steven Lachman.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 28.
