A Penn State student reported at 2:38 a.m. Tuesday that she was sexually assaulted in State College borough, municipal police said.
The exact location and time of the reported assault were not immediately known, according to a police report. It remained under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
Also Tuesday, police said Jeffrey Kerr, 46, of Philipsburg, was arrested and charged with simple assault in a separate borough incident. He punched someone in the face in what appeared to be a domestic matter, a police report shows.
Kerr was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Hoffman. He remained jailed in the Centre County Correctional Facility as of Wednesday morning, according to an inmate listing.
