An Allegheny County man was arrested after making violent threats that made an employee of a downtown State College business fear for her life on Thursday afternoon, according to borough police.

Keenan J. Kimbrough, 32, is accused of threatening to rape, beat and kill the woman during a 20-minute interaction at an East College Avenue store.

The woman told police that she became uncomfortable when Kimbrough entered the store and began flirting with her. After she told him she had a boyfriend, Kimbrough said he would “rip out [her] organs” and made multiple other graphic and sexually violent threats, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Kimbrough also claimed he had a firearm and said “how he would use it,” police wrote.

The woman told police she was “scared for her life,” according to the affidavit.

After Kimbrough left the store with an item he did not pay for, the woman called police and he was apprehended about a block away.

Kimbrough is charged with misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, along with a summary offense of retail theft.

He was arraigned by District Judge Steven Lachman and was unable to post $25,000 straight bail. He is detained at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 12.
