Update: 4:17 p.m. Penn State Police say they’ve arrested a man who allegedly made threats in the HUB-Robeson Center Wednesday morning. The unidentified suspect allegedly said he would get a gun and “shoot people” after being told he couldn’t sleep in the HUB.
The suspect was arrested in downtown State College following a police search. The man was originally described as a vagrant in a text Penn State sent out — warning students about an “indirect threat”.
The suspect, whose address is not known, will be charged with one count of terroristic threats and two counts of disorderly conduct. The man allegedly hit parked cars with a stick.
The man is expected to be brought before a district justice later today for a preliminary arraignment.
A Penn State text alert that went out shortly after noon indicates police are searching for a man who made an “indirect threat” in the HUB.
