PHOTOS: Old Main Candlelight Vigil Honors Joe Paterno

They arrived all bundled up, candles in hand, prepared for a breezy, chilly evening in mid-January.

For 37 minutes Sunday night, thousands of people huddled together to honor the late Penn State football coach Joe Paterno. On the Old Main lawn, they listened to current and former football players speak; they heard from Paternoville President John Tecce; and they listened to the Blue Band and a cappella group Blue in the Face.

From the candlelight vigil on the Old Main lawn, many proceeded to the Paterno statue outside Beaver Stadium, where they left candles and others symbols of honor and mourning.
