A proposed reorganization of board committees and an update on university legal matters are among the Penn State trustees’ agenda items Friday.
The university board is scheduled to meet in public session starting at 1:15 p.m. at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey. It will mark one of the board’s six annual public meetings.

Penn State Board Chairwoman Karen Peetz, named to the leadership role in January, went into some detail Tuesday about the proposed committee reorganization. It would remove three existing board committees and replace them with five new ones. Student, alumni and faculty/staff advisors would be added as non-voting committee members.

Other agenda items before the board Friday include a general report on legal issues. (A preliminary document released to the news media does not go into detail about those issues.) The board also will hear a reorganization-and-renaming proposal for the Department of African and African American Studies, in the College of the Liberal Arts.
