Penn State will launch pyrotechnic noisemakers again Thursday evening at University Park, part of an ongoing effort to disrupt migrating crows.
The explosives will be set off between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Thursday in core campus areas around Old Main, according to a news release. The effort will continue on weekday evenings as often as necessary, it notes.
‘No crows will be harmed in this operation,’ the release reads.
Penn State annually tries to disrupt and relocate crows that descend and leave droppings on the campus. Last year about this time, according to the university, roughly 3,000 migrating crows collected at University Park.
