Nittany Lion Club members planning to attend Penn State’s 2013 season opener will be able to buy tickets starting next week. Penn State takes on Syracuse at MetLife Stadium, just outside New York City, on August 31. Tickets be purchased through the athletic ticket office beginning Friday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m.
The general public can order tickets from Penn State starting Monday, June 17 at 10 a.m. by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Phone orders can be placed weekdays from 8:00 a.m-5:00 p.m.
Nittany Lion Club members and football season ticket holders will be given a date they can order tickets for the Syracuse game based on NLC point totals. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 1-800-NITTANY (648-8269) from 10-a.m.-5 p.m. Nittany Lion Club members will have the opportunity to purchase a maximum of 10 tickets based on priority points.
Several different seating locations and price levels will be available, and fans who purchase their tickets through Penn State’s online offering will be seated with other Nittany Lion fans.
Tickets for the Penn State-Syracuse game range from $75 to $175.
If you want to buy tickets today, tickets are available through Ticketmaster for the same prices although location and availability may vary.
The Nittany Lions and Orange have met 70 times previously, the second-highest total for a Penn State opponent. Penn State owns a 42-23-5 series advantage, winning the most recent contests during the 2008 and ’09 seasons.
Penn State will be playing at the Meadowlands for the first time in 13 years. The Nittany Lions faced USC in the 2000 Kickoff Classic at Giants Stadium. The Orange and Penn State have only met once in Giants Stadium with Penn State posting a 35-7 win on October 20, 1979.
