Penn State football fans fans are just starting to heal from the daily stress and emotions of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.
And now Hollywood is hoping to adapt the story to the big screen in the coming years.
Deadline.com reported Friday that ICM Partners is in the beginning stages of production that would see Any Given Sunday star Al Pacino play legendary Penn State coach Joe Paterno, who was fired Nov. 9 in wake of the Sandusky scandal.
Paterno died of complications from lung cancer Jan. 22.
The movie would reportedly follow a similar storyline of Joe Posnanski’s recently released biography of Paterno in which the acclaimed author was given unlimited access to Paterno files and meetings during the unfolding of the scandal last fall.
Posnanski is scheduled to be on Penn State’s campus to address his book Friday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m.
