A second Penn State player has heard his name called at the NFL Draft this week as Gerald Hodges was selected in the fourth round of the NFL draft, No. 120 overall by the Minnesota Vikings.
The 6-foot-1, 243-pound linebacker will join a Minnesota team that went 10-6 last season. Hodges posted 100-tackle seasons during his final two years. He began his career at safety but moved to linebacker during his freshman season. Hodges marks the 331st Penn Stater all time to be tabbed at the NFL draft.
Hodges was a semifinalist for the 2012 Butkus Award, and was invited to the East-West Shrine Game and 2013 NFL Scouting Combine. Hodges earned first-team All-Big Ten honors in 2011 and second-team all-conference honors in 2012.
Defensive tackle Jordan Hill was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round Friday night as the No. 87 overall pick.
