Penn State Bowl Tickets to Go on Sale Sunday

Penn State football’s bowl destination and opponent will be announced by 8:45 p.m. Sunday, the university reported Tuesday.

Bowl-game tickets will go on sale shortly thereafter — at 9 p.m. Sunday — for Nittany Lion Club members and 2010 season ticket holders, according to a Penn State announcement. The tickets will be sold only via www.gopsusports.com on Sunday night, and buyers will need their account numbers and passwords, the announcement says.

Members of the general public may begin buying bowl tickets at 10 a.m. Monday. They may call (814) 865-5555 to place their orders between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., Penn State reported.

Also, student tickets for the bowl game will be made available via a walk-up, cash-only sale at the Jordan Center ticket office. A time and a date for that sale have yet to be announced.

The Nittany Lions will most likely be headed to the Outback Bowl, played in Tampa, Fla., on Jan. 1; to the Gator Bowl, played in Jacksonville, Fla., on Jan. 1; or to the Insight Bowl, played in Tempe, Ariz., on Dec. 28, according to Penn State. Ticket prices for those bowl games range from $64 to $80 apiece.

This season will mark the 43rd time a Penn State football team has been selected to play in a bowl game.
