Less than a week after finishing the 2011-12 season, Penn State is already seeing changes to the roster, as sophomore junior college transfer guard Matt Glover was granted his release from Penn State, the school announced Wednesday.
Glover, who provided the Nittany Lions with a defensive spark, struggled from the field offensively averaging 2.8 points a game while pulling down 4.3 rebounds.
Glover, who is originally from Orange, Calif., will travel back to his home state, but his next academic location is yet to be determined. Glover played one season of junior college basketball at Sheridan Community College in Sheridan, Wy., before joining the Nittany Lions this past season.
Moving forward for the Nittany Lions, Glover’s transfer will open up two scholarships for the 2012-13 class. 6-foot-7 forward Brandon Taylor from Trenton Catholic Academy in Trenton, N.J., and 6-foot-3 shooting guard Akosa Maduegbunam from Winchendon School in Winchendon, Mass., are currently slated to enroll at Penn State for the 2012-13 season.
