Penn State basketball picked up its second commitment in just as many days on Sunday evening as big man John Harrar committed to the Nittany Lions.
Harrar out of Strath Haven, PA comes in on the scales at 6-foot-8 230 pounds and committed just two days following the commitment of 2017 point guard Jamari Wheeler. Both players will join fellow 2017 incoming freshman Trent Buttrick.
Interestingly, Harrar was originally planning on attending West Point as a tight end prospect to play football for the Blake Knights.
However, following those initial plans Harrar had received more interest in the basketball side of things, eventually opting to commit to the Nittany Lions. Harrar had also generated some interest from UConn according to recruiting services. Penn State offered Harrar just 10 days prior to his commitment.
