Penn State football coach Joe Paterno expressed his concern about felony charges filed against six members of his team Friday morning.

According to a report in the Digital Collegian, Paterno said he and his staff will review the situation and will determine what consequences follow.  No additional comments were provided.

Paterno’s comments followed a press conference in which charges against the football players for their roles in a dowtown State College altercation were announced publicly.  Junior Safety Anthony Scirrotto and redshirt sophomore defensive tackle Chris Baker face charges of burglary, criminal trespass and simple assault.  Scirrotto was also charged with harassment and two counts of criminal solicitation.  Baker also faces charges of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and harassment.

Other PSU football players facing charges include Justin King, Jerome Hayes, Lydell Sargeant, and Tyrell Sales.  (More info)
