Matt McGloin’s making his return to Beaver Stadium. Only this time, he’ll be in the broadcast booth, not on the field.
The former Penn State starting quarterback and current Oakland Raider, McGloin will join play-by-play man Scott Graham and sideline reporter Brian Tripp to serve as the analyst for the Big Ten Network’s coverage of the 2015 Blue-White Game this Saturday at 4 p.m, according to Penn State Athletics.
The game will be broadcast live, and then will be repeated Sunday at midnight and at 10:00 p.m., Monday at 11:30 p.m. and Tuesday at 4 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
During his storied time at Penn State, McGloin won the 2012 Burlsworth Trophy for the nation’s best player that started as a walk-on. He set and still holds records for season passing yards, completions and touchdowns in a season, career touchdowns, and completions in a single game.
In addition to the BTN television broadcast, the Penn State Sports Network radio stations will air the game across the state and region. As usual, Steve Jones and Jack Ham will lead those calls.
Tickets and parking for the Blue-White Game are free, and the game headlines a list of exciting events in State College this coming weekend. Early weather forecasts suggest a warm but potentially rainy day at Beaver Stadium for the annual spring game. Regardless, it will still be a welcome sight to see Mr. Moxie himself back in town.
