A 20-year-old man was punched in the face late Thursday in downtown State College, he told borough police.

The incident happened shortly before 10:20 p.m. on the 300 block of West Calder Way, according to a police report. The man said he was approached by two unidentified males who hit him, knocking him to the ground.

He believes they intended to rob him, though he was missing no possessions afterward, police said Thursday. The man, who had been walking by himself, refused medical treatment, according to the police report. An investigation is ongoing; police classified the incident as an attempted robbery.

Also Thursday, police said they’re looking into a reported burglary at 317 W. Hamilton Ave. That incident was reported about noon Thursday.

An apartment door at that address had been kicked in; inside, a TV, Playstation and Xbox were missing, according to a police report.
