Drivers will encounter lane closures for upcoming patching work on sections of Beaver Avenue in State College, according to PennDOT.

One lane will remain open as patching is completed on the following schedule:

  • Monday, June 24, in the left lane between Atherton and Allen streets.
  • Tuesday, June 25, in the right lane between Atherton and Allen streets.
  • Wednesday, June 26, in the left lane between Allen and Garner streets.
  • Thursday, June 27, in the right lane between Allen and High streets.
  • Friday, June 28, in the left lane between Garner and High streets.
  • Monday, July 1, between Buckhout and Atherton streets.

“Most permanent pothole patching is completed in the spring/summer when temperatures stay consistently above freezing,” PennDOT wrote in a news release. “If maintenance crews were not repairing potholes, the road surface would break up further and require more expensive corrective measures.”

Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving and stopped vehicles.
