Drivers can expect several lane closures and full block closures in downtown State College beginning Monday.

As previously reported, South Burrowes Street will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians between Calder Way and West Beaver Avenue from 7 a.m. on July 12 through 7 p.m. on Aug. 6 while contractor Leonard S. Fiore replaces bus stops and pavement. The work is related to construction of Penn State’s James Building replacement.

From Monday through Friday, Landmark Construction will be occupying part of South Atherton Street northbound for work on The Standard apartment building. One travel lane and the east sidewalk on South Atherton Street will be closed between West Calder Way and West College Avenue.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, Landmark Construction will occupy part of West College Avenue between South Atherton Street and South Burrowes Street for sidewalk and curb reinstatement related to The Standard construction. The south sidewalk and one travel lane on West College Avenue will be closed in that area.

East Calder Way between South Pugh Street and South Allen Street will be closed to vehicles from 8-11 p.m. on Tuesday, and again on Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 — for the Downtown State College Improvement District’s free outdoor movie series, “Summer Family Flicks.”

East Calder Way between South Fraser and South Pugh streets is closed 6-11 p.m. every Thursday through Saturday, starting this week, for DSCID’s Calder WalkWay, a part-time pedestrian mall with community activities and a “dynamic lighting attraction”
