Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky will be sentenced on Oct. 9, immediately following a 9 a.m. hearing to determine whether he will be labeled a sexually violent predator.
Judge John Cleland signed the order that scheduled the hearing and subsequent sentencing on Monday.
He ruled that any “memoranda or other written statements” submitted on behalf of the prosecution or the defense must be filed in Centre County court no later than 3 p.m. on Oct. 5.
A sentencing conference will be held with counsel and Cleland in chambers at 2 p.m. Oct. 8.
Sandusky, 68, has been incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility since he was convicted on June 22 on 45 of 48 counts of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period.
