From First Night: Regrets? We’ve Had a Few. Resolutions, Too

Healthier eating habits. More love. Health insurance.

Visitors to State College’s annual First Night celebration on Saturday offered up a variety of resolutions for 2012 — and regrets from 2011.

On interactive resolution-and-regret exhibits, First Night attendees can write publicly their aspirations and shortcomings. Most are left anonymously.

Here’s a look at some worth noting:

• ‘I want to end hunger and hate.’

• ‘No more fast food.’

• ‘Communicate with my best friend better.’

• ‘Be more patient with (names redacted).’

• ‘To be healthy and happy and have another baby.’

• ‘To serve the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul and body.’

• ‘Do better in school and study more.’

• ‘Say ‘I love you’ to those dear to the heart. Always find time for things that matter.’

• ‘Become an actual grown-up.’

• ‘To become Batman.’

• ‘Eat better; exercise; drink milk.’

• ‘Snuggle better with Dad.’

• ‘Get a job with health insurance. (Also more candy.)’

• ‘Be generous and smile more.’

• ‘Live, laugh, love 2012.’

• ‘Read and understand the Bible.’

• ‘AA is for quitters.’

• ‘Eat less; exercise more.’

• ‘Have fun wherever you go. Be nice wherever you go.’

• ‘Be the person my dog thinks I am.’

• ‘Don’t worry; be happy.’

• ‘Make last night’s dream come true.’

• ‘Find more peace in me.’

• ‘Stop biting my nails.’

• ‘Be nice to my kids.’

• ‘Don’t be grumpy.’

• ‘Love Earth.’

• ‘Ban freakin’ fracking.’

• ‘Be the best dad.’

• ‘Love life more.’

• ‘Love more, judge less and live in the moment.’

• ‘To be a better mom and wife.’

• ‘Eat more pizza.’

• ‘I want to earn 110 dollars this year.’

• ‘Cherish every friend.’
