The 100 block of South Fraser Street has become a one-way street — for northbound traffic only — for the next eight to 10 weeks, State College borough announced this week.

Ongoing work on the Fraser Street-Beaver Avenue intersection-realignment project necessitated the temporary traffic-pattern change, according to the borough. The Fraser Street parking garage will remain open, a borough announcement says.

Meanwhile, the borough Department of Public Works also announced this week the postponement of a rain-garden project at the Allen Street-Beaver Avenue intersection.

Originally planned for installation this year, the rain gardens will be constructed instead by fall 2012, according to a public-works announcement. It says that the original plan would have conflicted with the Fraser Street realignment project and the arrival of Penn State students for the 2011-2012 academic year.
