Former FBI Director Louis Freeh will release his report Thursday morning on Penn State University’s handling of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse case.
At 9 a.m. Thursday, the highly anticipated report will be posted in its entirety at https://www.TheFreehReportonPSU.com.
Freeh’s investigative team wanted to make sure that the university’s Board of Trustees sees the report at the same time as the public.
His report is expected to focus on the facts and circumstances surrounding molestation allegations against Sandusky, the longtime assistant to Joe Paterno.
Tuesday night, a spokesman for Penn State’s board of trustees said members held an informational conference call to prepare for the results of the investigation into the university’s handling of Sandusky, who was convicted last month on 45 charges in the sexual abuse of 10 boys.
A live news conference will be held at approximately 9:55 a.m. Click here to watch it live on WJACTV.com.
Following Sandusky’s arrest in November, university trustees appointed Freeh to lead the sweeping investigation. The Freeh group first met at the University Park in late November. The goal of the investigation was to find out how the abuse involving Sandusky happened on campus and expose any possible coverup.
Freeh’s central mission was to find out how and why Penn State failed to stop Sandusky and recommend changes to help prevent more abuse.
More than 400 people were interviewed as part of the Freeh investigation, including everyone from top administrators and trustees to retired secretaries and former staffers in the athletic department.
