Flood Watch in Effect for State College Area

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for central Pennsylvania, including State College. It will remain in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to a post on AccuWeather.com.

Minor flooding is likely along smaller streams and creeks as moderate to heavy rain combines with melted snow, the National Weather Service bulletin warns. ‘Some locations may also see the larger creeks and smaller rivers reach caution or flood stages,’ it reads.

The potential for flooding will extend to poor-drainage and other low-lying areas, the bulletin says. AccuWeather.com is calling for heavy rain, a thunderstorm and a high of 56 degrees Monday. Monday night is expected to be colder and more clear with a low of 24 degrees.
