A fire that ripped through the Hotel Do-De in historic Bellefonte early Sunday morning destroyed the building and forced everyone out, though no one was reported injured or missing.
According to the Centre Daily Times, the fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. and was not under control until at least 6 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
John Dann Sr., the building’s owner, told the newspaper all of the tenants either got out of the building safely or were not home when the fire broke out.
The Hotel Do-De, which is located on the 100 Block of East High Street, sits between the Garman Theatre and the Courthouse annex, the former having suffered smoke and water damage, with the annex being spared.
Three firefighters were treated for ‘likely smoke inhalation,’ as reported by the CDT, and police officers and firefighters from around the county assisted.
