Ferguson Township announced today that Erika Green has been hired as the new Director of Planning and Zoning and will assume her duties May 1.

Green will oversee the development of new and revised ordinances and administration of the Township’s Recreation, Parks and Open Space Plan, as well as monitor the development and planning of the Township.

“I am excited and pleased that Erika Green will be joining our team. I believe she is a great fit and she will strengthen our community planning and citizen services based on her education and experience,” said Ferguson Township Manager Mark Kunkle in a news release.

Green comes all the way from Alaska, where she last served as the Community Planning Division Manager in Barrow on the northernmost tip of Alaska.

“I look forward to working with Ferguson Township residents and staff as well as the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission to coordinate planning initiatives and projects at the local and regional level,” Green stated in a news release.
