State College police are investigating Sunday’s fatal shooting as a homicide.

“The Centre County coroner has ruled the death a homicide, which means it was a death caused by the hands of another, not suicide or natural causes,” says State College Police Lt. Keith Robb. “The case is still being investigated, and it is too premature to release any more information.”

According to multiple media reports, Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers determined that the victim died from a gunshot wound to the head. Sayers identified the victim as Nuria Kudlach, 51, of State College.

At about 10:00 on Sunday morning, police were dispatched to a home on Gregor Way in State College where a reported domestic dispute between a husband and a wife preceded the fatal shooting. Kudlac was already deceased when police arrived, according to a State College police news release.

Police say Kudlach’s husband and son both remained on scene until officers arrived.

Police have not announced any suspects, and did not confirm whether anyone has been taken into custody. The Centre County District Attorney’s office is working alongside the State College police in the investigation.
