Expert testimony allowed in Sandusky trial

Bellefonte, Pa. —  New developments in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial.

Judge John Cleland will allow the defense to use expert testimony.

One day one of the trial, one of the alleged victims talked described what he said where “creepy love letters” sent to him by Jerry Sandusky.

Sandusky’s attorney, Joe Amendola, filed a motion on Monday rebutting the claim that the letters were used to groom the alleged victim.

In that motion, Amendola asked to be able to call a psychologist as a witness that would show the words and statements in those letters are consistent with a person who suffers from Histrionic Personality Disorder.

That disorder describes a person with a need for excessive attention.

In the meantime, jurors have a long weekend to consider the graphic testimony they heard this week.

Of the ten alleged victims investigators were only able to identify eight of them, but they all took the witness stand portraying Sandusky as a demanding sexual predator.

The prosecution plans to enter a few items into evidence Monday morning, then the defense gets its turn.
