Weeks after his appearance at Medlar Field, Corey Feldman is still firing fastballs at the State College Spikes.
“That was a bunch of B.S. right there,” Feldman told TMZ in a video interview yesterday.
Feldman, a former child actor known for his roles in The Goonies and other films, told TMZ that his appearance at a Spikes game and the subsequent fallout was “a set up.”
After a Spikes game in July, Feldman performed a Michael Jackson-esque set accompanied by a pair of women singers known as Corey’s Angels.
The Spikes issued a statement the next day on Twitter, apologizing to any fans who may have been offended by the performance and for “the appearance being so far below expectations.”
“When I went up there, we had a contract, and in the contract it stated that I was supposed to do a performance,” Feldman told TMZ. “Somebody up there who was the manager for the Spikes never read the actual contract apparently.”
Feldman said the Spikes failed to provide adequate sound equipment, and that the two female singers were appropriately dressed for an all-ages show.
After the initial statement, Spikes General Manager Scott Walker clarified that the apology was made because Feldman did not meet his contractual duties to meet fans, sign autographs and appear on the field.
A representative for Feldman has previously told StateCollege.com that Feldman did throw the first pitch of the game and was willing to meet fans and sign autographs after his performance.
Feldman also told TMZ that he believes the bad press from the Spikes performance resulted in him losing a gig at a Special Olympics event in Los Angeles in July.
“The whole thing was kind of embarrassing,” Feldman said.
Representatives for the Spikes did not immediately return requests for comment or clarification about the content of Feldman’s contract.
