Blue White weekend is underway and the weather is already throwing a wrench into the schedule. The Blue White Weekend Wingfest, scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight, has already been cancelled due to a particularly nasty forecast for tonight that calls for rain, rain, and more rain.
“It will be a wet evening in State College,” said Andy Mussolini from Accuweather. “We have a cold front moving into the area this afternoon and it’s bringing periods of rain and thunderstorms that will develop in the afternoon and continue into the evening hours.”
The Wingfest cancellation is currently the only change to the Blue White weekend schedule according to Alexa Hetzel of the Penn State Athletics Communications office, but a team of administrators will address additional changes as necessary. “As of now nothing else is changing” but if further changes do occur the public will be notified via “rapid fire alert for everyone calling, email, and social media.”
Things will be a bit drier tomorrow for the game, but it will also be a lot colder. It will be about 45 degrees at game time tomorrow but high winds will make it feel chillier, according to Accuweather, so be sure to snag a seat on the warm side of the stadium, the east side.
Mussolini says that rain can’t be ruled out for tomorrow’s game, so be sure to remember rain gear!
