A Bellefonte man already facing charges for smash-and-grab thefts and a robbery was accused on Thursday of additional burglaries and a robbery in the State College area.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by State College police, 21-year-old Tre Estes-Stalnos shot his way through the glass front doors of CVS Pharmacy, 1630 S. Atherton St., while it was closed on Nov. 15, causing $1,667 in damage.
On Jan. 3, Estes-Stalnos allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint at the Super 8 Motel, 1663 S. Atherton St. Police wrote that he made the man remove his clothes and walk toward a third-floor elevator, commanding him not to turn around, then took the man’s keys, cellphone and AirPods.
Borough police also accused Estes-Stalnos of entering the Nittany Mall while it was closed on Oct. 27 and stealing from two businesses. The owner of I-Cell Repair reported he came to work to find, locks on cabinets broken, the register opened and $100 taken. Estes-Stalnos also stole $100 and prescription medication from Can’s Art, according to the affidavit.
He admitted to all three incidents during an interview in March, police wrote.
Ferguson Township police also filed charges against Estes-Stalnos on Thursday for allegedly shooting his way into CVS and Rite Aid pharmacies on North Atherton Street in January.
He allegedly told investigators that while he was inside the Rite Aid store during the early morning hours of Jan. 7, he said to himself, “What am I doing?” and ran out.
The shooting at CVS on the night of Jan. 26 caused $3,752 in damage, police wrote.
Estes-Stalnos allegedly told investigators that he is a kleptomaniac and was “drug seeking.”
Estes-Stalnos is charged with 15 felonies and six misdemeanors in connection with the cases filed on Thursday.
In January, Estes-Stalnos was arrested and charged for a robbery at the Econo Lodge in Benner Township, breaking into and stealing items from Rite Aid, 1927 S. Atherton St., and breaking into the mall and stealing items from two businesses.
He is in custody at the Centre County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing on the new charges is scheduled for May 25
