The Attorney General’s Office has requested a hearing to determine Jerry Sandusky’s status as a sexually violent predator.
Frank Fina, one of the lead prosecutors in Sandusky’s June trial, filed a document on Wednesday in Centre County Court requesting that the court schedule a hearing so the prosecution can present its case regarding why Sandusky should be forced to register as a sexually violent predator.
Fina cited an assessment received by the Attorney General’s office on Aug. 22 that was conducted by the Sexual Offender Assessment Board. The assessment was not included in the document.
Sandusky, 68, was convicted on June 22 on 45 of 48 charges of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period. He awaits sentencing pending the fulfillment of all necessary psychological examinations and is currently incarcerated in the Centre County Correctional Facility.
