Annual Golf Classic to Benefit Cardiovascular Services at Mount Nittany Medical Center

The 31st annual Mount Nittany Health Golf Classic will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Penn State Golf Courses according to a release from the State College-based health system.

Hosted by the Mount Nittany Health Foundation, this year’s classic will benefit cardiovascular services at the medical center.

In September 2019, Mount Nittany Medical Center opened a $15 million, 26,000-square-foot cardiovascular pavilion. The all-volunteer golf classic committee pledged to raise $1 million to support the pavilion, and to date has raised $840,000.

This year’s golf classic will have an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes for each flight will be awarded to the 16 winning teams placing first through fourth in net and gross scores on each course. Prizes will be awarded on both courses for the longest drive, straightest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt. The event also features a putting contest.

Participating golfers will receive lunch and commemorative gift, as well as snacks and beverages. The foundation also will host a post-play reception and dinner awards ceremony.
