STATE COLLEGE —Patients seeking care at Geisinger’s Careworks locations can now wait for their visit in the comfort of their own home.
Careworks has implemented a new online check-in system at www.careworkshealth.com for 13 of its urgent-care clinics, including local ones in Bellefonte and State College.
Patients can search the Careworks website to find the closest center, the current wait time and schedule visits. Individuals can schedule the next available visit or a later time that might be more convenient.
Patients will be notified by text message when it is time to come in.
“We are already seeing fewer people in the waiting room and for less time,” said Careworks executive Steve Tracy. “We want to make it as easy as possible for our patients to seek the care they need and when it’s convenient for them so they don’t have to sit and wait in a crowded waiting room.”
