Festival to Feature Improv Groups from Around the Country

Happy Valley Improv will welcome performers from around the country this week for its second annual XL Improv Festival.

Shows and workshops will take place Thursday through Saturday at the Blue Brick Theatre, 209 W. Calder Way.

“This event will be an opportunity for us to connect with fellow performers and audiences who share our passion for creativity and humor,” James Tierney, Happy Valley Improv business manager, said in a statement. “We cannot wait to see what this festival has in store.”

• Local Spot (Baltimore)
• From Justin to Kelly (New York City)
• NYTEShift (Philadelphia)
• Birds and Friends – Cosmic Unity (New York City)
• Boy-Girl Party (New York City)
• Owl Legs (Baltimore)
• Reality Bites (State College)
• Mouth Stuff (Baltimore)
• Durango (Chicago)
• Big Bang (Boston)
• Alone in a Church (State College)
• Happy Valley Youth Program (State College)
• Festival Ensemble 

Mainstage shows will begin at 6 p.m. each day.

The festival also will feature a variety of workshops and classes led by Dana Powell, who is perhaps best known for her recurring role on “Modern Family,” Ti Malik Coleman, Dawn Rosenbaum and Marcely Jean-Pierre.
