Donald Trump’s campaign rally on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center might not be his only visit to State College before Election Day.
The former president and current Republican nominee’s campaign team and security are planning for Trump to attend the Penn State-Ohio State football game on Nov. 2 at Beaver Stadium, a university spokesperson confirmed on Thursday.
Yahoo Sports college football writer Ross Dellenger first reported the news earlier Thursday afternoon.
Penn State spokesman Wyatt DuBois said the university has been informed that “a private citizen has invited former President Donald Trump to attend the Ohio State-Penn State football game as a guest in their suite.”
“The U.S. Secret Service is working with University Police and Public Safety and other state and local law enforcement on safety and security measures that are put into place around the presence of presidential candidates,” DuBois wrote in an email. “With that in mind, we encourage fans, anyone visiting campus, and all those attending the game to arrive early to the game or to their intended destinations.”
The game between the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes is scheduled for a noon kickoff.
The Trump campaign did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday.
In the meantime, Trump is confirmed to speak at 4 p.m. this Saturday at the Jordan Center, marking the first visit to Centre County by a presidential candidate this election cycle.
The area has seen a burst of high-profile political activity over the past week.
Though not an official campaign event, Trump supporter and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswany spoke at Penn State on Thursday, and a day later New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke at the State Theatre in downtown State College.
On Sunday, five Democratic governors brought the “Blue Wall” bus tour to a parking lot next to Medlar Field for a rally in support of Kamala Harris, and on Tuesday the “Team Trump” bus tour featuring four campaign surrogates stopped at the same location.
Pennsylvania’s Democratic incumbent Sen. Bob Casey held a campaign event in rural Aaronsburg on Thursday afternoon. His opponent, Republican Dave McCormick, is scheduled to hold a campaign tailgate before the Penn State-Ohio State game, Onward State reported.
