Centre County Adds 2 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 225 Over 2 Days

Centre County reported two COVID-19 cases over the past two days — one each on Sunday and Monday — to bring its total to 16,914, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 225 — 121 on Sunday and 104 on Monday — for a statewide total of 1,211,707.

The county also reported 78 negatives over the two days, bringing its total to 70,906. Statewide, there were 7,963 new negatives for a total of 4,755,689.

According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, three COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, two fewer than on Saturday, with one in intensive care and one on a ventilator.

Pennsylvania has 341 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 18 since Saturday, with 57 in intensive care [-7] and 49 on ventilators [-11].

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 227.

With 11 new COVID-19 deaths reported on Sunday and three on Monday, the statewide total is now 27,657.

An estimated 97% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.

As of Monday morning, 75,767 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 10,525 are partially covered.

Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in MedicineMount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
