State College Area Roller Derby will close out its 2023 season with the “Wreck the Halls” intraleague game at 5 p.m. on Saturday at C3 Sports, 200 Ellis Place, State College.
Wreck the Halls will kick off the holiday season with an adrenaline rush and a heartwarming sense of community. It will be the first time since 2019 that SCAR Derby has hosted a true Intraleague game where SCARs are playing against SCARs.
“We are so excited to finally play each other,” Chemical Restraint, freshcuts coach and skater for SCAR Derby, said in a news release. “Our season has focused on playing other leagues, and it is so nice to play against your best friends.”
In the spirit of the season of giving, the event will also feature a charity 50/50 raffle. The proceeds from this raffle will be dedicated to supporting Centre Safe, which provides help to those who have experienced dating and domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.
“Attending Wreck the Halls means not only enjoying an action-packed evening but also contributing to a noble cause,” Vanessa Rodriguez, marketing director for SCAR Derby.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m.. Bleacher seating is available, but fans can bring their own chairs.
Tickets are $10 and admission is free for children 10 and younger.
