It may be the middle of summer, but this year’s People’s Choice Festival is bringing the chill of the North Pole to Centre County with a brand-new “Christmas in July” celebration that promises snow, Santa and a whole lot of merry.

“Christmas in July” will run every day during the event Thursday through Sunday at Grange Park in Centre Hall and deliver a sleigh full of festive fun for families, kids and anyone who just can’t wait for December.

The heart of the action is the fully decorated “Christmas in July” tent, brought to life by Christmas Decor by Jabco, with sponsorship support from Keystone Payroll, wYs Interior Design and Fullington Tours. Inside, visitors will be transported into a Yuletide dream, complete with glittering garlands, holiday theme music, and all the nostalgic trimmings of Christmas morning.

The highlight of the celebration comes Saturday, July 11, at 11 a.m., when none other than Santa Claus himself makes his grand summer entrance on top of a Centre Hall Fire Company fire truck. Families are encouraged to arrive early to catch the moment and yes, Santa will be staying until 4 p.m. to hear wish lists and pose for photos.

But the holiday magic doesn’t stop there.

Snow is in the forecast. Yes, actual snow! Thanks to special effects and some seasonal sorcery, snow flurries will drift through the festival grounds, turning the middle of July into a winter wonderland.

Kids can tap into their inner elf with the Christmas Decor by Jabco Coloring Contest, where creativity meets competition. Keystone Payroll is providing prizes for the most imaginative young artists, and entry is free to all.

Throughout the festival, local charities will be hosting games and activities in the Christmas tent and throughout the grounds, offering everything from prize wheels and giveaways to interactive experiences that will keep kids laughing and parents smiling.

Whether you’re sipping lemonade, shopping for handcrafted gifts or dancing to live music, “Christmas in July” adds a playful twist to the summer festivities. It’s an opportunity to blend the warmth of summer with the magic of the holidays and maybe even get a head start on that nice list.

So, dust off your Santa hat, throw on your favorite holiday outfit and celebrate with the People’s Choice Festival Christmas in July event!
