Jana Marie Foundation to Host Inaugural ‘Shine On’ Concert, Glow Golf Fundraiser for Youth Mental Health

Live music and glow-in-the-dark golf will take over the Penn State Golf Courses later this month as the Jana Marie Foundation hosts its first Shine On Community Concert and Night Golf Tournament to raise money for youth mental health and suicide prevention programs. 

The family-friendly fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15, with a community concert beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a nine-hole glow-in-the-dark golf tournament teeing off at 8:30 p.m. 

Concert tickets are $10 and food and beverages will be available for purchase. 

The evening will open with performances by State College native and rising Nashville singer-songwriter Caryn Dixon and local band Area 38. Attendees also can enjoy mini golf, yard games and other family activities. 

After sunset, golfers will play a nine-hole tournament using glow-in-the-dark golf balls on a course illuminated with glow sticks. Teams of four can register for the tournament, beginning at $600 per team. Registration includes admission to the concert, one meal ticket and drink tickets for each golfer. 

Proceeds from the event will support the foundation’s free mental health and suicide prevention programs for children, teens and families across central Pennsylvania.

The nonprofit provides school-based education, after-school programs, summer camps, parent workshops and community training focused on building resilience, encouraging healthy conversations and helping young people recognize when and how to seek support.
