Happy Valley Improv is launching a series of “Final Friday” fundraisers with 50% of all ticket sales from the last Friday show of each month this summer benefiting a State College nonprofit organization.
The three scheduled “Final Friday” fundraisers are:
• June 30, benefitting Centre LGBT+
• July 28, benefitting Jana Marie Foundation
• Aug. 25, benefitting Schlow Centre Region Library
Each show will begin at 7 p.m. at the Blue Brick Theatre, 209 W Calder Way, and last approximately 90 minutes. Because of adult language and topics, patrons should be 18 and older. The shows are BYOB.
“We are happy to continue to give back to the great organizations that make Happy Valley such a special place to call home,” cofounder and business manager James Tierney said in a news release.
Tickets to each fundraiser performance are available at bluebricktickets.square.site/shop/final friday-fundraisers/7.
“Jana Marie Foundation is truly honored to partner with Happy Valley Improv once again,” Hannah Brewster, Jana Marie Foundation office manager, said. “James and company have been strong supporters of our mission to spread mental health awareness through creative expression and dialogue for years. Encouraging individuals to be their authentic, creative selves is a large part of the work that we do, which aligns beautifully with the work being done at Happy Valley Improv.”
“We’re excited to partner with Happy Valley Improv on another year of community programming,” added Maria Burchill, head of adult services at Schlow Library. “The folks at the theater are adept at teaching their art and helping students see its application in everyday life.”
