Centre LifeLink EMS has been re-accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS) for its compliance with national standards of excellence.
This year’s accreditation will be the 26th year, representing nine consecutive three-year terms, that Centre Lifelink EMS has been accredited. In Centre LifeLink’s onsite review, there were no deficiencies cited. With this achievement, Centre Lifelink EMS is only one of four ambulance services in Pennsylvania accredited by the commission.
CAAS is a nonprofit organization established to encourage and promote quality patient care in medical transportation systems. CAAS’s standards often exceed state or local licensing requirements, with the primary focus being high-quality patient care.
“This is accomplished by establishing national standards which not only address the delivery of patient care, but also the ambulance service’s total operation and its relationships with other agencies, the general public and the medical community,” according to a news release.
Scott Rawson, executive director of Centre LifeLink, said that the accreditation represents a commitment to patients and the community.
“We continuously strive to do our best and our consistent accreditation status is another step toward excellence,” Rawson said. “Our staff has been key to our successful completion of the accreditation process. Everyone here plays a valuable role in our ability to continuously meet the Commission’s high standards.”
