The Bellefonte Art Museum is hosting a show titled “Quilt Barns” this March, with the exhibition having opened on Friday, Feb. 28. The showcase features photography of barns with hanging quilt blocks from Pennsylvania, New York and North Carolina.
One of the highlighted barns is owned by Marjorie and Gerald Korman of Old Fort. That barn will be the focus of the presentation led by local photographer R. Thomas Berner on Wednesday, March 19, at 6 p.m. at the museum.
All photographs from “Quilt Barns” will be displayed during regular museum hours from noon to 4:30 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays beginning Friday, Feb. 28.
Berner has two self-published books that about barns, “Pennsylvania Barn Stories,” and “Pennsylvania Quilt Barns.” Along with this, he is a member of the museum, Farmland Preservation Artists of Central Pennsylvania, the Art Alliance of Central Pennsylvania and the Historic Barn and Farm Foundation of Pennsylvania.
You can view all of the pieces at the museum located at 133 N. Allegheny St. throughout March.
