The Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has issued a call for entries for its juried fine art exhibition, Images 2025. The exhibition will run from July 1-31 at Schlow Centre Region Library, 211 S. Allen St.
Artists 16 and older whose primary residence is in Pennsylvania can submit applications for entry until May 9 at arts-festival.com/images-juried-exhibition. Eligible 2D media include drawings, paintings, pastels, mixed media, photography, hand-pulled prints, watercolors, fiber, paper and digital art. Digital images of original work produced after January 1, 2022 may be submitted.
Richard Rinehart, director of the Samek Art Museum at Bucknell University, will be the juror for the Images 2025 Exhibition. He has previously served as digital media director and adjunct curator at the UC Berkeley Art Museum, as well as curator at New Langton Arts and for the San Jose Arts Commission.
He has juried for the Rockefeller Foundation, Rhizome.org and others, led the NEA-funded project “Archiving the Avant-Garde” to preserve digital art and co-authored the book “Re-Collection: Art, New Media, & Social Memory” with Jon Ippolito for MIT Press on collecting and preserving media culture.
A total of $1,800 in cash prizes will be awarded for Images 2024, including for Best of Show ($500), Best Painting ($200), Best Pastel ($200), Best Photograph ($200), four merit awards ($150 each) and Best Student Submission ($100). Winners will be announced at an awards reception during the festival on July 10.

Images 2024 is one facet of the 59th Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, which will be held July 9-13 in downtown State College and on Penn State’s University Park campus.
