A national sandwich shop chain is returning to State College after a two-year absence.
Jimmy John’s has signed a lease for a store at 1718 S. Atherton St., next to Honeybaked Ham in Creekside Plaza, according Kandy Weader of Bennett Williams, the commercial real estate agent for the property. The 1,457-square-foot space was last home to Subway, which closed earlier this year along with several of the chain’s other Centre Region locations.
“This high-visibility location continues to attract strong national brands, and we’re proud to have helped bring another great tenant to the market,” Weader wrote in a Facebook post.
Jimmy John’s media relations did not immediately respond to a question about a planned opening date.
The sub shop’s most recent State College location at 434 E. College Ave. closed in the summer of 2024. Mosul Grill now occupies that downtown space.
