Fasta & Ravioli Co. has closed its Pleasant Gap retail shop, but its products are not going away. In fact, owner Bob Ricketts is aiming to make them more accessible.
The locally made pasta purveyor launched an “Outpost” at Maine Bay & Berry Co., 201 Elmwood Street, State College, where it now has an expanded retail area offering fresh pasta, ravioli and sauces.
Ricketts called it “an exciting shift to better serve our customers,” ensuring Fasta’s products “are more conveniently available—just closer, depending on where you live.”
Fasta will continue as a vendor at the Boalsburg, North Atherton Street, Friday Downtown State College and Hershey farmers markets, as well as at the West Shore Farmers Market in Camp Hill.
The handmade pasta products also will remain available at Burkholder’s Country Market in Spring Mills, Meyer Dairy Store and Tait Farm Harvest Shop in Boalsburg, Way Fruit Farm in Port Matilda, Juniata River Commons in Mifflintown, and Simply Flavorful in Mechanicsburg.
Ricketts wrote in an email that Fasta is planning to expand to more Outposts and retail locations.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our loyal customers over the years and look forward to continuing to provide the same high-quality pasta, ravioli and sauces in new and more accessible ways,” Ricketts said in a statement.
Fasta’s retail store at 157 W. College Ave. in Pleasant Gap, where the business has operated for more than a decade, closed as of Friday, Feb. 14, but the location will continue to serve as a production facility, Ricketts said.
