PV grad releases second book of romance series


SPRING MILLS — Former Penns Valley 1976 graduate and Penn State graduate Judy Sharer recently released “Second Chance Life” — The second book in her “A Plains of Life” series.

According to a press release, “Second Chance Life” is a historical romance and the next part in her family-saga series.

The book follows the newly married Sarah and Mark Hewitt family as a tragedy threatens to destroy the dreams of the family of four which is struggling to scratch out life on the barren Kansas plains in 1859. Sarah Hewitt often writes home to family members in Tidioute, Pa., about events that change their lives.

Overcoming past secrets and half-truths, the Hewitts have a second chance at life on their farm, but will new circumstances threaten their family dynamics when unresolved issues of trust creep into their lives? The answers are in the book.

Upon retirement from education in 2014, Sharer embraced writing novels, which she now calls her second career. She enjoys writing in her home in the northwestern mountains of Pennsylvania.

The first book in the series, “Settler’s Life,” is available in paperback, Ebook and audio formats. The newest book, published by The Wild Rose Press, can be ordered through online retailers and brick and mortar stores.
