STATE COLLEGE — The Centre Area Transportation Authority launched its second annual CATArt Poster Contest in September as a means of encouraging local students to consider the impact transit has on their communities.

This year’s theme was “Postcards from CATA” and students were asked to imagine they were sitting on a bus and looking out the window as their community passes, and to draw what they see.

CATA is pleased to announce the following contest winners: Avenir Berezhnoy, Kindergarten, Centre County Christian Academy; Nataliya Woskob, first grade, Grays Woods Elementary School; Stella Maslov, second grade, Centre County Christian Academy; Aaron Stewart, third grade, Marion Walker Elementary School; Lucia Harte, fourth grade, Grays Woods Elementary School; and Alyssa Berezhnoy, fifth grade, Centre County Christian Academy.

These students will have their artwork displayed on a full bus wrap, plus receive a great prize package including generous donations from local businesses including The College 9, Dairy Queen, Discovery Space, Get Air, IHOP, Northland Bowl and Quaker State and Lube.
